If you have found this forum and are wanting to know what dropshipping is all about then read on. This thread will be updated regularly with new FAQs: What is dropshipping? - Dropshipping is where someone sells a product and asks a third party to ship direct to their customer. You would advertise the products of a dropshipping company on your website or auction site etc. When the item sells and you have received payment from your customer you place the order through the dropshipping company, give them your customers details and they will send the order direct to your customer. The idea is that you sell the item for more than the dropshipping company would charge you and the difference is your profit. Why should I use a dropshipping service? - Many people use dropshipping for different reasons. The main reasons include lack of space to physically store their own stock, lack of time to fulfil orders (or simply would prefer not to) or don't want to buy stock that they may not be able to shift. With dropshipping you don't buy the stock until you've sold it so you don't need to store products and fulfil orders and risk buying stock that you can't sell. Which company should I use? - We can't answer that one as it depends on what you want to dropship. We are currently compiling a list of reputable dropshippers for you to choose from. You should try to choose a company that has been recommended. If you find a company without recommendations then search Google for that company and see if you can find anyone talking about them. When you find a company that looks good then it is advisable that you place a test order with them first and get them to send an order to you. Then you can see what the quality of their products are like and also how long it takes for the order to reach you. |
